MAAUG (Moroccan Adventure And Urban Gaming) application, is a “Urban city tour”, a “Urban gaming” or an “Adventure gaming” at the same time. On foot, by bike or by car… you live the adventure with your Ipad 4G GPSin hand. Another way of visiting the city and surroundings in real time with this new kind of guide 2.0. The starting point is most of the time hotels for tourists or offices for corporate companies, and players just have to draw up their wish list. “We have identified 90 points of interest just for the Medina. Monuments, restaurants, craftsmen, cafés, galleries… anything that can be interesting” explains Olivier Deschamps, the game designer. Along the way, your ipad shows you the good places to see or stop by around you. No more risk of losing yourself in the meanders of the souks, you are followed, managed, advised and helped by your ipad. The application can even bring you back on the right path. You can leave yourself lead by suggestions or you can choose your preferences, cultural, gastronomic or historical. On you own or within a group, you just have to be guided. A simple, practical and fun way of visiting a city and its surroundings region, as the application also covers Agafay Desert, High Atlas and the Deep South of Morocco.

Options also offer a “gaming” version. Ideal for team buildings, families and groups of friends. Same principle: your ipad shows all points of interest, step by step, and arise them once visited. In addition, you must get over different steps, answer riddles or questions and gain points. There are even a few ghosts to find on the way… “some steps will take players to craftsman, such as Mohmed, one of the last few to manufacture leather slippers by hand” explains Olivier. That’s the whole interest ! A cleaver tourism, closer to the local people. As an added bonus, players leave with the summary of the day, their photos and videos and a report on the visited places.
